Gem Garden Adventure Mode: The Complete Guide

Adventure mode is the heart of Gem Garden. Instead of one endless game, you travel through a map of short levels, each with its own goal. It is the best place to learn the game, and it keeps things fresh long after Classic mode starts to feel familiar.

This guide explains how Adventure works, what each goal means, and how to collect three stars more often.

How the map works

Adventure is organized into worlds. Each world has 20 levels and its own look and color palette:

  1. Emerald Garden
  2. Crystal Lagoon
  3. Sunset Dunes
  4. Amethyst Caves
  5. Candy Meadow
  6. Frost Peaks
  7. Royal Palace
  8. Cosmic Sky

After the eighth world, the cycle continues with new layouts, so there is always another level to play. Finishing level 20 of a world unlocks the next one.

You can replay any level you have already beaten. That is useful for improving your stars, or simply for relaxing with a level you enjoyed.

The three types of goals

Every level shows its goal at the top of the screen.

Collect gems

Some blocks on the starting board contain a sparkling jewel. To collect it, clear the row or column that the jewel’s block sits in. The counter at the top shows how many of each color you still need.

Break the ice

Frozen blocks are covered by a layer of ice. Clearing their line once breaks the ice but leaves the block in place. Clear the line again to remove the block. Later levels add a double layer of ice, which needs one more clear.

Reach a target score

Score levels start with only a few blocks on the board and a points target. They are a good place to practice combos and multi-line clears, which earn far more than single clears.

Some later levels combine goals — for example, gems and ice in the same level.

Stars and rewards

You earn one to three stars when you finish a level. Stars depend on how many pieces you used: the more efficient you are, the more stars you get.

Each win also gives you coins. You earn more coins the first time you beat a level, extra coins for more stars, and a bonus for Hard levels. Every five levels you can also open a bonus chest.

Hard levels

Every tenth level is marked Hard on the map. These have more blocks on the starting board and larger pieces in the tray. The two levels after a Hard level are a little easier, so you get a breather. If you are stuck on a Hard level, we have a dedicated guide.

Tips to progress faster

  1. Read the goal first. In a gem level, clearing random lines wastes pieces. Aim for the lines that contain jewels.
  2. Use the line preview. Hover a piece over the board to see which rows and columns will glow. It helps you aim precisely at gems and ice.
  3. Clear lines that cross. A row and a column that intersect on a gem or ice block can be cleared by one well-placed piece.
  4. Do not hoard boosters. If a level is going badly, an Undo or a Hammer at the right moment can save it. You earn more from daily rewards and the Lucky Spin.
  5. Replay for stars later. It is often better to finish a level with one star and keep moving, then come back once you have more experience.

Boosters at a glance

  • Undo – takes back your last move.
  • Hammer – removes one block of your choice (or one layer of ice).
  • Refresh – replaces the pieces in your tray with new ones.
